Obsidian Polygons /paper series 2025

The Obsidian Polygons are an exploration of absolute materiality and surface tension. Moving away from the vibrant palettes of previous series, these works pivot toward the total absorption of light.

Executed as acrylic on paper, the series utilizes high-pigment matte blacks and layered textures to create a sense of weighted, architectural presence on a two-dimensional plane. These works do not rely on color for depth; instead, they use the environmental light of the room to carve geometric form out of a monochromatic surface.
